How Do You Share Someone Else’s Full Reel on Instagram?

We all love posting our favorite IG creator’s content, be it a static post, viral video, or Reel, on our Instagram Story. Talking about me, half of my Stories comprise someone else’s Reels.

If you also want to do the same, here are the quick steps:

    launch instagram app
  • Open the profile whose reels you want to share on your Instagram Story
  • Go to the Reels section, and select the desired Reel (or video).
    go to someones profile
  • Tap the Plane icon on the right panel.
    click on paper plane icon
  • You’ll find the Add to story option at the bottom corner of the screen. Tap it.
    add to story
  • Hit the next arrow icon.
  • Tap Share > Done

Why Can’t You Repost Reels on Instagram Story?

Are you unable to repost Reels on Instagram Story? If so, below are some possible reasons behind this:

  • You could be trying to repost Reels on your Instagram Story from a private account.
  • The app might be experiencing some glitches at the moment. Try again later.
  • The account owner has disabled the “allow sharing to story” option in their account.
  • Instagram’s server might be down.
  • Your internet connection isn’t stable and breaks every time you try to repost the Reels on your Story.

If you haven’t yet, I recommend updating your Instagram app to its latest version to fix the bugs.

How Can You Download a Full Instagram Reel?

To download a full Instagram Reel and share it across your other social media accounts, you just need to save it to your device from the app only. Follow these steps to do so:

  • Launch the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.
  • Tap the Profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • Go to the Reels section of your profile, i.e., the center tab.
  • Select the reel (or video) you wish to download.
  • Tap the three vertical dots on the right panel.
    click 3 dots
  • Select Save to your device or Download
    download

You can now access that particular Reel from your device’s Gallery.

Note: The above steps won’t work on someone else’s profile.

If you want to download other creators’ Reels, you must use a third-party tool. Follow these steps to do so:

  • Launch the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.
  • Open the Profile whose Reels you want to download.
  • Go to the Reels section of that account, i.e., the center tab.
  • Select the desired reel (or video).
  • Tap the plane icon on the right panel.
  • Tap the Copy link option at the bottom.
  • Next, go to any third-party Instagram video downloader. I’m using InstaVideoSave.net and you can also give it a try.
  • Simply paste the above-copied Reel link on this tool, and tap Download

You can now access that particular Reel from your device’s Gallery.

How Do You Post a Reel on Instagram without Posting on Feed?

You can also post a Reel on Instagram without posting it on your feed, which is enabled by default. Follow these steps to disable this setting:

  • Launch the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.
  • Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen to access the camera.
  • Go to the Reel option.
  • Either choose any pre-recorded video from your phone’s Gallery or shoot a new Reel.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to edit your Reel. You’ll land on the Share page.
  • Here, the Also share to feed option will be enabled by default. Toggle it OFF

That’s it. You can now post a Reel on Instagram without posting it on your feed.

Conclusion

Here you go. I hope you’ve understood how to share full Reels on the Instagram Story. Due to the platform’s restrictions, if you share an Instagram Reel longer than 15 seconds in length, only the first 15 seconds will appear on your Story. To bypass this, sharing the full Reel from the profile is the ideal option.

The best part? This method lets you share Reels from someone else’s account as well.
