How to Copy a Link To a Facebook Post

Ever stumbled on a hilarious meme, a thought-provoking article, or a heartwarming video on Facebook and thought, “I have to share this!”? It’s like sharing a really good pizza with your friends that you wouldn’t hog all to yourself because you want your closest people to taste it too. 

But then, the dreaded question arises: “How do I actually copy the link to a Facebook post?”

Copying Links on Mobile Devices (Android or iOS):

With just these 3 simple steps, you can copy the link to any content you want:

1. First, open the Facebook app,
2. Navigate to the post that you want to get the link for,
3. At the bottom of the post, you will notice a “Copy” option. Click on that. Followingthe steps, you have already copied the link to the post and ready to share it with whoever you want.

But sometimes, the “Copy” option may not be visible depending on the app version you are using. In that case, we have alternatives as well. If you can’t copy it directly, follow the steps below,

1. Go to the post you want to share,
2. Click on that three dots from the top right,

3. After clicking on that, an option will emerge named “Copy Link,”

4. Select it and you are done.

In short, Select the post> 3 dots on top right> Copy link.

The process is the same for both Android and iOS. If you want to share the post directly to another app, you can also select the desired app from the share menu instead of copying the link. 

The fun fact is, you can also share the links on your Facebook posts or even repost on Instagram. This way, people can interact on your content separately and Facebook post likes will also emerge individually. 

Copying Links on a PC or Mac: 

The process is somewhat similar but some of us still may get confused at points. Follow the steps if you want to copy links to posts on a PC or Mac:

1. Go to the post you want to link.
2. Click on the URL in the address bar and press ctrl+C. This way you will have the link copied.

3. After that, paste the URL by pressing ctrl+V to anywhere you want. 

In short, click on URL> ctrl+C> ctrl+V.

Or, you can also adopt the method we used for mobile phones. What you will need to do is:

1. Click on the “Copy” option from the bottom of the post,

2. If the option doesn’t emerge, click on “Share” and you will find the option “Copy Link”

The process is again, same for both PC and Mac. Be aware that the link you copy might not work if the post’s privacy settings are restricted. But if the main post’s privacy is selected as Public, it should work fine. 

The last important thing to note down is, if you share any viral or hyped post on your account, there are high chances that it will attract public engagement on your account. 

So, if you are more of an introverted person or just don’t enjoy strangers getting access to your personal information, make sure to hide phone number on Facebook beforehand.
